Swirling blue lightning storm over ancient stone ruins on a mountain cliff

a poem – Lightning Rod 4 God

Lightning Rod 4 God

Your rose blooms under the clearest eve
When the cold defies the strength of my knees

They buckle and I carry a weight unknown to all
When I stand, corrected, and feel the weight of mine balls

Their importance is measured in the gravity of your lust
Towards an outcome, only I can know that we trust

My dogs may bark as you command them to mush
Through rain and sleet towards the sunrise we rush

I hope I’m the charioteer to your chariot
Or else I have fucked up as much as Richard Garriot

Did when he signed that deal with EA
And inspired Skyrim, which even now Todd Howard would find “kinda ghey”

And if Elder Scrolls VI should ever seek release
I’d hope that Mr. Howard would find inner peace

It never “just worked”, those settlement mechanics
But when Todd asks us in future, we’ll act like we’ve vanished

From every forum board, which we’ve laced with anonymity
And disgust for the lies with which Bethesda took our RPG virginities

“Daggerfall is better”, we will snicker into the darkness
While Todd Howard codes mods, and Starfield becomes stardust

“But only the Unity version is good!” He’ll cry to his children
“And Skyrim released before Daggerfall Unity!” He will justify like a villain

And as eternity progresses, we will share collective joy
A blessed inside joke which only Sophia can deploy

With measures so effective, even an embittered Todd
Will grant me the pleasure of marriage with my Lightning Rod for God
